Soaply makes detergents, fabric softener, dishwasher liquids, all-purpose cleaners, hand soaps as well as soaps bars from nature’s best ingredients. Like the shells of the Sapindus mukorossi fruit from Nepal. We use only the cleanest ingredients and together we pay a fair price for them. Our mission? A clean future for all of us!
It started in March 2013, when Dutch students Melvin and Jasper saw on television how people in Nepal were making natural soap from fruit shells. Sapindus peels contain saponin, a natural form of soap, which is released when the shells come into contact with water. Melvin and Jasper got in touch with Hari the Nepalese shell farmer, and decided to scrape together their student loans to get a first shipment of shells to the Netherlands. They saw an opportunity to make people happy with a wonderful product, and at the same time improve working and living conditions in Nepal!

As a nature lover, Stephan fell immediately in love with Seepje's natural products. Together with the Seepje sales team, he conquers as many hearts as possible with Seepje. And with his supermarket experience, this feels like second nature! Energetic as he is, he turns everything into a sport: from his daily bike ride to the office to crunching sales figures. Go, go, go Stephan!
Scandinavia? France? Taiwan? Nothing is too crazy for the good-humoured Daniel. Every day he is in contact with a different part of the world, because he has only one goal: to introduce as many people as possible to Soaply. And whether he will succeed!
The driven and cheerful Ilse is working very hard to make as much impact as possible with Soaply. When she's not working on the ambition to make Soaply CO2-neutral, she's talking to the people who work for Soaply, such as the guys at the sheltered workshop and the super shell farmers and partners in Nepal.
As co-founder there is literally no man who knows more about washing and cleaning than he does. Moreover, Melvin is responsible for financial and logistical matters. Not to mention production, nothing like stirring the Soaply kettle... Right?
As a co-founder, he is passionately involved the strategic and creative processes, such as product development and marketing and communication... He can also regularly be found on stage telling the Soaply story! Jasper is on the road a lot, but when he is at the office, he prefers to sit in the beach chair with his laptop.
Hester, our passionate marketing hero, keeps herself busy with the ins and outs of Soaply’s marketing team. From making choices about our product range to sharpen the edges of our outdoor communications… She does it all.
Her mission? Making sure the impactful Soaply story is in everyone's heads and hearts. Oh and, curious as she is, she likes to keep track of all marketing trends and data, and she travels as much as possible to discover new cultures.
The enthusiastic Frans is always ready with piles of Soaply stock! As captain of the Soaperations team, he keeps a close eye on all matters: making plans, delivering Soaplies to customers and looking for the best ingredients and suppliers! With great pleasure he also teaches the class once a week. At Tilburg University he shares his knowledge about business and sustainable laundry. According to Janita, Soaply has a beautiful inside and outside. As an interior enthusiast, she fell for the looks of Soaply, but with a little one on the way, a clean future becomes even more important.. And everyone should know that! She cheerfully drives through the Netherlands to convince buyers at head offices and stores of truly sustainable washing. She also hustles great promotions, so that no one can ignore our natural products anymore!
The happy and cheerful Elke doesn’t just ski perfectly from every mountain, she also brings Soaply to the top! Elke takes every chance she gets to tell Soaply’s story, with our own online shop and other online retailers, to the online shopper. This runner doesn’t only run outside but also to make an impact. Cool, right?
How we reach the most people with our impactful story? Alex knows it. This digital doer makes sure all of our online advertisements look fan-tas-tic and knows exactly which button to press to make even more impact. Alex isn’t just enthusiastic at work. He also feels just like home on his surfboard. And while playing a game of pingpong, just try and beat him at the ping pong table!
All hens on deck with sales captain Milou! She sees every opportunity to make Soaply grow internationally. Milou preserves her relationships like no one and with an eye for the future. New partners? She handles it with care and lots of fun! With a little one at home, laundering and polishing keeps her busy in her free time as well!
The driven Anisa is responsible for finding stores where Soaply can share their story. But that’s not the only thing she does… She also arranges a-ma-zing discounts and helps storemembers by informing them and giving them advice. She may be small but her plans are big! With her qualities and enthusiasm she gets it all done!
Evelijn is the tower of strength from the sales team. She supports account managers and forms the chain between sales and supply chain. Evelijn is a real people person, who likes to see if co-operations between colleagues can get even better. Analyzing data and translating it to strategic insights is her core strength. No coincidence she loves strategic games… Anyone in for a game of carcassonne?
Jessy actually belongs to the furniture of Soaply. Not just because her cheerful outfits match our packaging so well, but also because she started at Soaply many years ago as an intern and never left. Jessy is responsible for the planning of the manufacturing chain to make sure all of our Soaply's are in stock at the stores in time. This means calling, lots and lots of calling. But with Jessy’s energy those conversations are full of joy!
The brand Soaply? Evelien breathes it! The passionate Evelien makes sure that everything we do is truly Soaply. And everything, really means ev-ery-thing! From PR to the design of packaging and from brandresearch to collaborations… Evelien owns it!
His name says it all, Bas is our new creative champ at Soaply! From concept to creation, fixed or moving content: with Bas it often comes in a big creative wave to splurge! Not only in the washroom, but also outside it, he catches waves while surfing. Both in the North Sea and the Indian Ocean, his second home. Making an impact is what drives him: 'Stop polluting our waves!'
Kristiaan is our biggest Soaply user. No wonder his job is to make sure we always have enough Soaply’s in stock. He makes sure you’ll never have to live without them! Kris works, together with the supply chain team on purchasing, producing and delivering our Soaply’s as sustainably as possible. And he does it all with a bright smile!
The enthusiastic Barbara loves to plan and organize. And for the better… Because Barbara is responsible for analyzing and handling the supply of Soaply to make sure no one has to live without it! She also supports and monitors customer contact to make it even better!
The process from ordering to delivering? Our talent Timo knows it! He is responsible for the supply order, order processing and transport. This all-arounder takes every chance he gets to support the Supply Chain team besides his own daily tasks.
The motivated and ambitious Bas is responsible for all the purchases of our ingredients and components we need to make our Soaply’s. Bas also keeps track of all market developments. Negotiating, planning and making decisions… Bas owns it!
Lotte doesn't just like to fix her house… At Soaply she works hard to fix everything financially! Lotte works well with numbers and is responsible for all of our finance processes. She makes reports, supports our laundry man Melvin and makes sure that the teams of Soaply make the best strategic decisions. Easy to say: Lotte makes those numbers count!
Lilly’s creative brain and passion come well together to get the unique Soaply story on camera. Images, videos, animations… Everyday is different for Lilly! She also likes to give our packaging a new fresh Soaply look. That's how she inspires others to choose for a clean and bright future!
Laurence is our new bubbly social media talent. Setting up and developing creative concepts? Laurence knows! In addition, she helps the entire marketing team with photo shoots, social media posts and maintains contact with Soaply fans. How cool is that?! Laurence's laundry basket is not half empty but half full ;-)
